The province’s industry has contributed 14.7% to provincial GDP and attracted 6-7% of workers. The key industries in the province are: industrial salt production, sugar processing, sea product processing for export, cashew processing, mineral water exploitation and construction material production.

     In the next 10 years, Ninh Thuan will emphasize industrial development to promote  the province’s ecomomic structure transition. The orientation is to develop industries to best exploit its potentials and advantages. The following will be strongly focused:

     - Agricultural, forest and aqua products processing like wheat production; cashew processing for export; cotton, sugar and neem product processing; aqua-cultural product processing for export.

    - Mineral product exploitation and construction material production like granite stone production for paving and construction, construction brick production, high quality glass production, and minaral water exploitation.

   - Several other sub-sectors that have good potentials and advantages like post-salt chemical and consuming goods production.

    In  order to create favorable investment environment, it is needed to do planning and building industrial complexes. Firstly, it is essential to complete infrastructure in a synchronous manner, including roads, and systems for electricity supply, water supply and disposal treatment in three following industrial complexes:

   Thanh Hai industrial complex:

     35 ha size, located at the T-junction of national highway 1A and provincial road 704 and 5 kilometers from the center of Phan Rang-Thap Cham town in the north. This is a place that attracts businesses and production units in the fields of electronics, information technology, textile, garment, mechanical engineering and construction material production of different kinds.

   Thap Cham industrial complex:

    126 ha size, close to national highway 27 and Thap Cham railway, and 7 kilometers from the center of Phan Rang-Thap Cham town in the north west. This is a place that attracts businesses and production units in the fields of forest product processing, chemical production, food stuff processing, household appliances production.

   Tan Tai industrial complex:

    30 ha size, located in Tan Tai quarter, Phan Rang-Thap Cham town. This is a place that attracts business and production units in the fields of aqua-cultural product production and processing, ship/boat repair and building, and mechanical repair.

  Planning and construction of Du Long industrial park in the northern part of the province

    The area wil be about 150ha, located in national highway 1A and 20 kilometers from Cam Ranh port. This place will become a center of leading economic complex in the northern part of the province as planned. It will benefit from favorable and stable water resourse that comes from 31 million m3 Song Trau lake. This will be an industrial park of well-aired and wide premises with a number of advantages for investors to provide the construction and business services of infrastructure, and construction of factories in industrial park.

    All industrial complexes in the province are located in convenient transport points, which are invested by the State with complete infrstructure. They are 20-50 kilometers from Cam Ranh seaport, 100 kilometers from Nha Trang and Da Lat cities, and 350 kilometers from HoChiMinh city./.
